ASG Intern Project Leader Internship

ASG is a leading Independent Supermarket services and product company based in Long Island NY, with clients throughout the Northeast – and a large client base in NYC and Long Island. We are in search of a Project Leader Intern to, “own” the projects assigned to them and be able to provide analytics upon demand, write reports, track progress on a project and send out timely updates. These are some expectations, but not all inclusive.
We offer paid internships in three cycles (spring, summer, fall) that align to a typical college semester. Each cycle runs for approximately 10-15 weeks. We ask for a 15–20-hour minimum commitment per week. Interns will be allowed to work a maximum of 30 hours per week. While work schedules are typically flexible, all interns are required to dedicate 3 hours a week for in person meetings. Every intern is assigned a mentor who works closely with them to help navigate the organization, create overall objectives, and oversee their work plan.
Interns will be paid $16.00 per hour and will be provided with a laptop to use during their internship. When the internship ends the laptop will need to be returned to the organization.
Intern Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:
• Collecting information specific to the project, and creating various reports some excel based, some power point based, some word based.
• Assisting with on-boarding clients to the project.
• Responding to inquiries from our clients on the project and answering their questions.
• Tracking different measurement points for the project as laid out.
• Attending conference calls and meetings as they relate to the project.
• Providing updates via emails, conference calls, in-person meeting.
• High use of Excel, Power Point and Word software.
• Interaction with various project vendors.
• Conducting data analysis to identify trends.
Qualifications
• Current student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Retail, Food & Beverage, Communication, or a related field. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Commitment to working towards the goals of the project.
• Passion for technology and consumer digital engagement (eCommerce, loyalty, social).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Well organized.
• Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Ability to speak in front of groups whether on the phone or in-person.
• Having reliable transportation (personal vehicle) and a valid driver's license to visit supermarkets and other locations is a plus.
